The Hepburn Dress

The Hepburn Dress is a contoured, draped design I created for my Product Development class. Inspired by the timeless elegance of Audrey Hepburn, this piece channels the sophistication of Breakfast at Tiffany’s with a modern twist. The dress features a low, draped chiffon back paired with a classic boat neckline and a front slit that begins at the upper thigh. To maintain a clean, seamless look, I inserted a built-in corset and attached it to the side seams, avoiding any visible stitch lines. The dress closes with an invisible side zipper and corset fastening for a secure, structured fit. Crafted from black satin crepe and chiffon, the silhouette is fitted through the hips and gently flows into a soft, short train. Constructed using both industrial and home sewing machines, this piece highlights my attention to detail, technical precision, and love for timeless, graceful design.
